I get visitors from the Local fire department trying out their aquatic marine fire fighting gear.

The boys show up on my beach.

Check the fittings and find a piece missing and go get it.

The young feller, a local Ranchers son, gets to haul the hose up the hill and try out the pressure.

I took a turn too. Got 35 feet of effective spray 165 feet above lake level.

All good things come to an end and the hose has to go back in the bag, clean and dry hopefully.

The young feller shows me the form that will one day be Captain of the Unit.

Long before that though, he is going to learn to be a helmsman of the RIB and he gets to go through the motions here with old hands teaching.

I bid farewell to my fire fighting buddies. Told em to bring a radio for me next time and I will join in.

Life is hard out here in the boonies but when chipper fellers like these show up it makes it easier.
